uhhh...improve compatibility for DOS games?
uhhh...improve compatibility for DOS games?
It seems like a reasonable enough question to me. Since contributors are free to come and go and spend their time as they please, I'd never expect a map with deadlines.. but a prioritized list of some known goals is possible. I don't there's ever been a shortage of stuff to work on so long as it can be found through the noise.
This wishlist (, posted by DosFreak 😀,) and the discussion that follows may be one of the better places to look:
DOSBox Feature Request Thread
Things not pertaining directly to compatibility, such as video recording, happen from time to time.. so I consider 'compatibility' to be more of a mission statement than a full description of the direction of development.
Hi,
I stumbled over a FPU error (see column C) which makes the DOS application useless in DosBox 0.65.
Then I tried CVS code and it worked!
I now have to use "unstable" CVS code in an productive environment - I should never tell anyone about that 😉, but...
it would really be great, if it would be possible to get an road map for future releases (I'm not a fan of using development code).
Any chance?

Considering how well we test the patches that get put into CVS it's not really that much of a problem but yeah it would be nice to see a roadmap.
It quite simple ,,,, a roadmap. prefferable one without time limits ëlse there´ll be sloppyjobs ,,,, better to take the time and make the stuff right,
¨But back to the roadmap,,,, what are the goals .... betternetworking?
PLz devs tell us your vision of dosbox and whats missing etc
The ultimate goal is to get people write full sentences and understandable postings.
