I believe that's an IBM floppy drive interface or clone. The edge connector on the end of the card is what the floppy cable connects to.

I'm intrigued by the motherboard as it looks very similar to an AT clone I've got but doesn't work. At first I thought it was missing a couple of BIOS ROM chips but your board suggests otherwise. What's the ID code on the edge of the board by the ISA slots?

IBM terminal keyboard, needs a thourough clean and a replacement keycap, but it was cheap :3

no the caps are not leaking, that's caked on dust, I already checked ^^

and an equally dirty Terratec Maestro 32/96 from the same lot
quickly wiped it down with some alcohol to be able to take a picture where the card is actually visible but also needs a deep clean

nope ^^ not out of the box, but you can get an adapter for it or just replace the internal controller.

Got this rather rough IBM PS/2 Model 56 in today off eBay, it's got some kind of power supply problem and a fair bit of internal surface rust (including rust on the floppy drive stepper motor) that I'm not sure yet how I'm going to fix.

I have an IBM model 77, from the same era as the model 56 you have. Take off the front and look for a switch in the front left of the chassis. if its anything like my model 77, there is a "tamper" switch there that prevents the machine from turning on unless you know its there.

Yes, when I opened it up the first time, I saw the staggered BIOS chips and I was like, OK, that's odd, but they read ODD and EVEN so I didn't worry too much.

I'm going to do a complete teardown and clean all the dust off it probably in a few days, depending on the progress of my final assignment. For now I hope this will suffice

I thought so as well, but there was no NIC in there. There was an empty slot cover so who knows what was removed. The floppy controller has a big external connector (40 or so pins) so maybe it booted externally off a floppy drive? The guy who sold it to me knew little about it, just that it was stored for close to two decades.

Got two NOS still in box, never used Serial port 8bit ISA cards (for a Song and Dance 🤣). One has a 1999 date sticker from Best Buy the other (Siig) looks much older and has Parallel too. The SiiG should work great in my next XT/286 build along with with a SCSI controller and HD.
Also got a Fujitsu M2949 and IBM DDRS39130 HD's as trade for an old Nvidia Gf 2 Ti that I did not need, not sure if they work though, was a "spur of the moment thing"....

Yes, you have 2 spare ROM sockets there to insert an additional option ROM.

Thanks, Yes, I asked for a packing each card in newspaper and this was confirmed...

Thats apparently why I bought it, but I will keep some other cards as well.

External floppy drive unit. Usually those have 1-4 drives...

Bought this Hitachi docking station for Visionbook Pro series laptops. Label says for 7000/8000 series, but it works fine with my 6000 series laptop. The key features why it's of any value for me is the game port and the line-in connector.

Plus, something I didn't know until just now, it has one of those freaking awesome strobing LED blocks! Can't wait to bench this against VLB and ISA caching controllers...
