ZIP with every file, and a CSV with a filename -> entry name mapping.

Archive.org has got to have the worst UI I've ever seen for trying to deal with "collections" or get in touch with people. UGH!!

Anybody here more familiar with archive.org got any suggestions?

Thank you for doing this, SS. It helps to ensure that in the event of some horrifying catastrophe, all the effort you and the contributors have put into the archive will likely survive (except in maybe an end-of-the-world scenario, but, if that happened, the loss of vintage drivers will likely be the least of our problems)

I noticed about 2 weeks ago or so they changed some of their web formatting, have only uploaded one item since and had no issue but it was small. Before that upped 30+ items and did not have any issues.
I think there is an upload max size that is not stated. Have you tried breaking your archive into parts (assuming you are trying to up one big .tar, zip, rar, etc) ?
edit: fixed a quirk

The file size limit is 4GB per file for archive.org. At least that is what I had to break it up into when I uploaded the Sony Vaio ftp backup.

Well, that's good to know. They must be using FAT32 partitions for storing files. Jk, however, the Windows 9x FAT32 had a limit to 4GB, so...

And download process begun! Like others have said, this is going to mean a lot down the road. Thanks again!

The problem wasn't uploading the file, it was putting it into the right collection. As a new user you can only choose "Community Texts", "Community Software" and a few other generic collections, to which this collection doesn't apply.

I posted in the forums (which weren't easy to find) to request it to be moved into a Vintage Computing category I found, and one of the site admins did it no problem.

I don't know why that process had to be so manual, but 'tis what 'tis. All sorted now! 😀

Here are the drivers for Hornet Technology VL-200 cached IDE controller. Not a very common card, and as far as I know, there are no drivers/information available online:

a6wwmLFm.jpg

Dropbox link

The folder has scans of the manual (with all the jumper settings), drivers for DOS, Win3.1, WinNT and Novell Netware.

All credit for incanus for these new utilities !

Here are 3 utilities for Cirrcus Logic GD610/620 VGA cards (with flat panel controllers)

Eagle.com v4.01 which is compatible with VGA BIOS <3.0 (on the site there's an newer version of it, 5.03 to be exact which isn't compatible with VGA BIOS <3.0)
Switch.com (TSR utility to change video settings on the fly like switching from internal LCD panel to external display...)
Vscreen.com (not sure of its abilities but could be used by the other two tools)

PS: I'll dump BIOS for my retro computers (90's industrial hardware mostly) so I'll be down to have an account on vogonsdrivers if that's possible : )

I upped the file, can you check to make sure it reads and downloads as you intended ? Thanks.

Infortunately I've got no documentation and I believe incanus doesn't got any either. I'm currently trying to save an hold HDD for a machine with a GD610 so I might get more doc/utilities there in the next few weeks !

Correct, no docs for the Cirrus Logic drivers mentioned by Jonas-fr above. I recently obtained this 386 luggable and although it has paper manuals for the motherboard and peripherals, there is nothing about the CL card except for some penciled-in DIP switch settings and two 3.5” and one 5.25” floppy containing (among other things) the drivers. I will actually double-check the versions; I may have more than one. But no docs on them.

Ok, thanks. I did find the Cirrus GD-610/620 datasheet and was able to list out some of the commands to .txt from the utils. Guess I will have to make up some docs it you do not find anything. Google was useless of course 😀

ahh it contains the hardware ID. So XP must have basic drivers that support it as long the ID is regged.
