Checked briefly online, but couldn't find a convincing info.

What will be the best way to "fool" a controller that floppy drive is attached to it ?

Thanks.

This is the only one I've seen. Speeds up boot times on an Amiga, but probably won't help much on a PC.

PCs don’t care whether there’s a floppy present or not. You should always at least be able to disable it in the BIOS or at least turn off seek-at-boot and/or the a:/c: boot order.

I only plug in a floppy sometimes on my open frame builds, and there’s never an issue having it disconnected.

I have this pretty awesome EIDE VLB controller that has hardcoded logic to auto-detect floppy drives.
This behavior cannot be disabled.
So, if floppy drive is not connected, it takes a moment to think about it.
Something that i would like to avoid.
Hope it makes sense.

Thanks for the link @wiretap.
I saw that, but was not sure.
Will give it a try.
