I saw a few threads about this, but none were really conclusive.
Is there a way to make a .cfg file (or something easier than making my own cvs build :p) to just customize the joystick? It isn't too big of a deal (I don't recall Wing Commander or Star Crusader needing more than two buttons on the joystick. Of course, I never had the manual for the latter...), but it would be nice.
I recall that when I was playing Tyrian (forgot what I used to emulate that) that I could just edit a file and add in a custom joystick definition. After checking the dosbox wiki (and the actual folder), that doesn't seem to be the case.
So is there a way to make my own joystick configuration, short of making a custom CVS build?
Failing that, is there any documentation that says exactly what each of the included joystick configs actually do? I imagine 2-axis is just a basic joystick, but how many buttons? 4-Axis is probably one of those older dual-joystick thingies, but what of Thrustmaster (I ignore the flight stick. It may be well over 10 years old, but my Sidewinder is a piece of crap :p)?
