Hi, I posted the link to the disc you're looking yesterday in your other thread:
Re: Trying to use wayback on the old Compaq PC website.

Did it not work? Here it is again, just in case:

https://archive.org/details/CompaqQuickRestoreNA02901Q3
This archive contains images of the boot floppy and CD of Compaq QuickRestore from 1996.

This QuickRestore CD Image is applicable for the following Compaq Presario Model ranges:

Compaq Presario 4100 Series (all machines starting with 41xx)
Compaq Presario 4700 Series (all machines starting with 47xx)

Be sure to read the instructions on the page, as you need to enter the zip archive password and the OEM number when you install. If you can't read the zip archive, try winzip, 7-zip, or winrar. Good luck!

I've been playing around with a Gateway Essentials 500 desktop PC for a little while now, turning it into a retro gaming PC for some light nostalgia trips. It has an Intel Warm Springs WS440BX motherboard in it and when I received it I noticed that it didn't have the most recent BIOS installed. After checking vogonsdrivers, Gateway support, and Intel support, I couldn't find exactly what I needed. Further digging through Google DID reward me with what I think is the final BIOS version for the WS440BX, being 4W4SB0X0.15A.0019.P14.0005091032.

I flashed it to the board without problems and everything is working great.

I'd like to offer this BIOS update for posting on vogonsdrivers in case anyone needs them in the future. The files included needed to be put on a floppy disk and loaded from DOS, as the disk wasn't bootable and it wouldn't open from Windows. Link below:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1RX4LeCqdc6F … M7l9sFEVVaZjx0N

Thanks!

Thanks for this. The Vogons driver link doesnt work for me for some reason.

I currently have this BIOS for my Gateway 550T - 4W4SB0X0.15A.0017.P12
Do you (anyone) know what upgrading to 4W4SB0X0.15A.0019.P14 would add?

Also, in the readme file it references '7508736.exe' where / what is this?

"If you have not already done so, locate and double-click the 7508736.exe file that you downloaded from the Internet"

I have a driver to contribute, I have found the official ESS Solo-1 driver online for Windows 3.11 but unfortunately the package was awful (wrong folders, random autoexec.bat file) and the installer was broken despite coming from the official archived website.

Attached is a .zip file I put together that contains the official ESS Solo driver, but with an older installer exe taken from the ISA ESS AudioDrive and everything restored to the proper locations. This will allow the driver to install if you first load the ESS Solo dos driver. It provides WAVE and MPU support to Windows 3.11.
I have also included the ESS AudioRack that was part of the ESS AudioDrive driver bundle I took the install exe from.

This should allow other ESS Solo-1 owners to more easily use this card on Windows 3.11 as I am not aware of any other working install packages for this card that support 3.11.
The archive.org link can be found here : https://archive.org/details/essolo-311

I forgot to mention, the other day I uploaded Win95/WinNT3.51 drivers I had found for a strange Samsung video card (Samsung Magic Media SCM-1000) that used an almost completely unknown Brooktree chipset, the Brooktree BTV2120 MediaStream.
I had found them here, likely to go offline: https://m.blog.naver.com/spc9999/220896336332
They seem like they may be Korean language only though.
Anyhow, they got the full VirusTotal treatment from me, and then I uploaded them:
http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1803

Based on this, the Brooktree BTV2120 may have been capable of 3D hardware acceleration: Re: 3D Accelerated Games List (non-3Dfx proprietary APIs)

Great find ! Very rare card !
Looking thru the files there is many .txt with Korean but there is also a lot of English files, the BTVVDCAP.HLP in /DRIVERS is in English (the only .HLP file, see pic) and the DirectX is English or Japanese.
Yeah I would say it "could" install in English based on contents of the file set.

Noticed the driver DB didn't have the win 3.11 version of this driver.
Figured I'd contribute. These are the two floppies that came with my Cirrus Logic 5440
