Yeah, I got it cheap because there is a problem with garbled video. I suspect a video ram problem. Most likely just need to re-seat the
Video dram chips or refloat the onboard dram. But in any case, worst case scenario I can just add a video card.

Surely my revodrives are retro? 😀

Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.

If you want to be semantic about it, you could argue that EEPROMs were used like SSDs in some old game carts.
Of course! We've come full circle 🤯

Ordered FireGL 8800 and FireGL 7700 (this is same as 3870 but with GDDR4 instead for bandwidth increase over GDDR3).
I hope these are made with good quality components.

I had to sell off most of my high end AGP cards at the beginning of the pandemic. Found this posted on Craigslist earlier this week and snatched it up. Works perfectly. The original owner kept it for as long as he did because he liked the artwork.

Cheers,
Almost all HD3870 was manufactured with GDDR4. And it only had marginally better bandwidth than GDDR3. But I'd assume the FireGL series does have higher quality components.

Most HD3870 I find are GDDR3, also which what mine is with rarely seen copper heatsink style with larger coarse spaced blower blades, unless there is a way to check the vram is GDDR4 or 3?
Ahh, about the Micron P300 100GB SSD, either that with PCI-X 3ware 4 port SATA, in PCI mode, which works with my Proliant 1500 (pentium 200 currently), really works using SATA 2 160GB Samsung hard drive or SiS 754 board.
On Proliant 1500 this combo works well with DOS partitioned as 2GB and does boot.

Bought it in a poke .
Easter egg surprise !!
SP97-V needs bios firmware updated to current version asap otherwise these kills the CMOS battery dry quickly when off. This was a firmware bug and we had to do to all of the customer and new boards when our shop that I was working part time at was selling these like hot cakes, back in the day.
If I recall correctly that was 0108 or later.

Perfect tomorrow I download the patch. Thanks

I don't know. I've never seen a GDDR4 HD3870, only heard that they exist, but where I live shops never had them.
This also implies that over two thirds of them were GDDR4:
https://www.gpuzoo.com/GPU-ATI/Radeon_HD_3870.html
Currently I see only one up for auction locally and that's also a GDDR4 variant. And if I check eBay it seems there are much more GDDR4 variants than GDDR3.
Great little machine this MikroMikko (ICL) Ergo X450-100 with integrated ATI Mach64, ESS688F and YMF262. I'll plug in Voodoo 1 and have a little fun with it.

well, along with few Radeon cards with Ruby on it, reference GeForce 6800 are among the most beautiful cards ever made, in my opinion
P.S. really sucks you had to sell your AGP collection 🙁
As a nice present, I purchased the E5-2667 V2 for my HP Z420 computer. Been waiting for long time for a good price.

Nice, please grab the new picture of that card without the ESD bag?
Back in the day, this was only one of two new purchases that allowed me to build 486 machine, The Hercules Dynamite and the earlier purchased 270MB IBM hard drive when I was in college. Video card can take 50MHz no problem.

Voodoo 2s cost $65 now? People use them for mining ethereum or something? I mean, I have 3 and was hoping to get an identical pair to one of them but at these prices I'll have to live with FastVoodoo drivers forever.

Hah... Prices on V2 12MB cards are usually more like $80-$100 as of late. I've got quite a few that I bought for cheap before the prices went crazy.
You think that is a lot, go look at the prices for Voodoo 5 5500 cards.
