A long awaited acquisition for my Presario 425.

I love this card. It has everything needed for DOS gaming.

Can you tell me more about this card? I’m guessing this one has some decent wave table midi?

It does not have best of all worlds but it is definitely universal and well ballanced card. It has very good SBPro 2 compatibility, good OPL3, ESFM, which is very nice alternative to OPL3 and also onboard wavetable (not the top notch one, but definitely nice to have). Generally good all-in-one solution.

is the ES692S comparable to the ES690F?

Edit: A little bit of searching and it seems the 692S is similar but with the 1mb patchset built in.

Sometimes I feel like I am the only person on earth who can't seem to stumble on a good deal on these ESS + Wavetable sound cards..

I know the feeling man. It's taken a while, and luck finally went my way this morning. I happened to hit my saved searches while I had my first coffee, and this gent on the other side of the world had just put up a variety of cards.

Hey, me too! I saw your card 😀 I think someone's selling their collection perhaps, a whole lot quite rare cards came up for sale at some pretty great prices. I seem to have got lucky too - a random search and I don't usually search internationally. Never thought I'd find one and seems silly to covet a GUS clone so much, but this is what I wanted so I'm happy:

It'll be a while until it arrives, but I 'm really looking forward to sticking some RAM on it.

Nice! I didn't even spot that one.

Gonna fire up my 9595, and put this up head to head against the soundblaster pro.

Any requests for the game music to choose?

A Siemens Simatic PG 740
Basically a Pentium portable used for programming S5 and S7 SPS systems.
System comes up to BIOS but does not boot.
The second one, a PG 740 PII does not boot, but seems to have only a powerbutton problem.
An A3 Flatbead plotter MP 4200 and a Thinkpad T60 completed the bundle.

Nice! I'd like to get an AMD sound card, what keywords did you use to find it? Did you go by 'AMD', 'interwave', 'Phillips <code>'? Or any computer model that used to include them? All of that?

Thanks.

I just searched for "isa" on the computers section, that usually turns up the most interesting stuff. It's quite rare to find a GUS anything these days, even more rare at a reasonable price.

As mentioned in my SCSI thread I picked up a USB Zip250 off eBay so I can transfer stuff over to my retro PCs that aren't networked via an original parallel port Zip drive.

One of my ewaste guys got the following trash can (literally) of cards (from another recycler):

HJ8MOJq.jpg
Pulled out the following:
(the better stuff)
sfMq8sS.jpg
(others)
VNPVLr1.jpg

Also got these Amiga cards and Powerbooks (3 Pismos and 3 Wallstreet) from him as well (No Amiga itself though 🙁)

jMbfv8W.jpg

Pretty happy and as usual I just paid scrap rates for the cards.

Great cards in there. But why take the NICs?

I would see them as important for getting early systems with no onboard networking connected to an existing network, and online. I have a few etherlink iii cards for that (although mine were nos in oem packaging when I bought them). Also useful for things like xtide.

See my graphics card database at www.gpuzoo.com
Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.

Dito. Nics come in very handy for that.
