I was able to pull 19fps on a Lucky Star 486e-C2 with an AMD 5x86 ADW clocked at 180(60x3). Strangely it’s most stable at 3v.

256k l2 - 15ns
PCI divider 1:1
16MB FPM 60ns
Riva 128 and Voodoo Banshee (same score)

I had to lower l2 cache timing to the slowest 323 settings to boot.

Would faster 12ns sram chips allow me to lower those timings any?

Is there a specific version of the bios I should be using over stock that might help?

Any other ideas to improve my score?

pshipkov, was this run at 180 MHz or 200 MHz? When do you get your trophy?

Better L2 chips, VESA mode, different chipset or motherboard. Apparently UMC mobos are the fastest in this discipline, but none are hassle free as SIS ones.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

I would agree for this thread. Kinda like all-motor drag races. No cheats like NOS 🤣. But I also want to see the absolute fastest no matter the method.

Had a brief glimpse the other day into Asus VLI GX4 + Ark1000VL running at 200MHz. It was interesting. 😀

With good 15ns L2 cache chips you can get to 3-1-2 and get half a frame higher.
12ns chips didn't improve things. Same for diff BIOS versions.

Also, i saw a comment from you in another thread about running 180mhz with Biostar UUD.

Got it, yah maybe with 12ns chip I can achieve those settings, I’ll give it a shot. Are my scores in-line with what you are getting for 180MHz?

Are you able to compare the MB-8433UUD at 3x60 (180 MHz), 3x66 (200 MHz), and 4x50 (200 MHz) with that of the M918 using the best stable timings?

I should of thought of that, they appear to be 3volt parts.

These 12ns chips are good in my opinion - had and have good experience with them.

Since we are talking about Quake 1 fps here.

3x60=180: 20.1
3x66=200: 18.5
4x50=200: 20.8

Notice the differences in BIOS settings (attached pictures) between the two 200MHz configurations.

As we talked in the other thread - 4x50 is easy, stable, fast. System is within specifications. Every decent motherboard can do it if the right CPU is in place.
3x66 - pain in the butt - most motherboards cannot do it, the ones who can are on the edge = mostly unstable, requires good components, relaxed BIOS settings, often slower than 3x60 let alone 4x50.

Forgot to turn-on the UMC IDE driver for 4x50. Perf is around 8-9Mb/s reported by SpeedSys.
At 3x66 the driver hangs right away, no matter what settings are used.
