Hello,
I'll post my build!

It all started with an IBM 300GL recovered from my grandmother's attic, it was the PC that my cousins and I used when we were kids.

IMG-4823.jpg

It was originally a:
-Pentium MMX 166 + 256kb L2
-32mb RAM
-3GB Quantum Fireball
-Sound Blaster Vibra XV CT4170
-IBM\Hitachi 16X CD
-Cirrus Logic 5446 with 1MB RAM

A strange thing, I can't find the documentation with the original configuration of this model!
He had mounted a Pentium 200 downclocked to 166mhz via the motherboard jumpers, very strange...

I enjoyed doing some upgrades, the goal is to have a PC for DOS \ Win 3.11 \ Windows 95

-Pentium 233, although on the documentation the jumpers are only up to 200mhz, setting them to 100mhz the CPU goes to 233
-32MB Celestica SDRAM, like the original one
s-l1600-1.jpg
-1MB additional memory for the Cirrus VGA
s-l1600.jpg
-Philips RWDV3210
rwdv.jpg
-Sound Blaster AWE64 CT4520
IMG-4763.jpg
-Creative 3D Blaster Voodoo2 12MB CT6670
IMG-4765.jpg
-SD to IDE adapter with 3D printed bracket
IMG-4760.jpg
-Olivetti keyboard, because I live in Italy, in Ivrea where Olivetti has its headquarters 😁😁
-Roland SC-88VL White Edition

I connected the pc to a DELL 4K monitor via a VGA -> HDMI adapter that supports all DOS resolutions

AIXXCO-qualit-portatile-Plug-and-play-VGA-a-HDMI-uscita-compatibile-1080-P-HD-Audio-TV-AV-jpg-Q90-jp.webp

I added a fan on the original passive heatsink and put a Noctua thermal paste

Some photos:

Thanks for the answer, what kind of tests do you recommend to do and with what software?

For the BIOS there is the possibility to customize the main logo and the secondary logo at the bottom right.
16-color BMP images should be used
On the IBM FTP mirror you will find all the necessary info and the disk to update \ customize the BIOS

Um I would say the standard stuff, Doom, Quake, Quake2, Descent, Unreal, and their glide/opengl equivalents if applicable. Phil's has a .zip with everything included for benching, but I'm sure you already installed full copies of some of these ;P
