The problem:
When the game starts, it asks to calibrate the joystick with a combination of movement and button clicking. This completes successfully. However, when I launch into a mission, the joystick is not calibrate correctly: it has a constant rate of drift to one side. I can recalibrate the joystick in-mission (Alt+C), or I can use the trim controls on the joystick to cancel out the drift. Both will eliminate the in-flight problem. But when I exit the mission and go back to the menus and flight deck, it's uncalibrated in the opposite direction, making the mouse difficult to use because the joystick is adding its uncalibrated drift to the pointer.
The game: TIE Fighter collector's CD
The joystick: CH Products Flighstick Pro USB (no throttle, no pedals)
