Hello!
I have a problem with the German version of Microprose's Grand Prix 2 and therefore kindly ask for your help. My DOSBOX version is 0.70, the recommended information about my system are listed below - as far as I could figure out what they mean 😊
The problem is as follows:
In fact I am able to start the game with DOSBOX by simply mounting the CD-drive. It works and is playable (except for the sound), but the big problem is that I can't save the game, because the savegame-option refers to the directory on the hard disk, which logically doesn't exist when the cd-drive is mounted. Then I referred to your FAQs, copied the whole CD in a directory on my hard disk and started the game by using this very complicated mounting-command (in my case: mount d C:\gp2 -t cdrom -GP2GERMAN). Again, it did work, but again I wasn't able to save any game information. Also moving the savegame-dir into the directory which is mounted as "fake CD" didn't help. Is there any way to make the game write to its savegame-directory???
Thanks in advance for your help.
Yours sincerely, Manu from Austria
