I installed DOS 6.22 on this (I think it had DOS 6.1 or something like that originally) and copied over a folder called CPQDOS, which I think contains drivers specifically for this machine (CDROM etc).
I have been messing about with the autoexec.bat and config.sys trying to get a decent amount of conventional memory. I have used QEMM 97 (with and without stealth options) and Memmaker but the most that either of them can get is about 577k. I think the CPQIDECD.SYS driver came with the machine originally and is specifically for the drive that's in there. I am really not very good at managing the start up files at the best of times and this really has me stumped. I have bare bones start up files now which are as follows, they givesme 570k. QEMM 97 is only able to improve it to 577k.
autoexec.bat:
SET PATH=C:\DOS;
LH C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:IDECD001
LH C:\MOUSE\CTMOUSE.EXE
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4
config.sys:
DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE RAM
DOS=UMB,UMB
DEVICEHIGH=C:\CPQDOS\CPQIDECD.SYS /D:IDECD001
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
