I have several coppermine slot1 cpu's (no external cache chips) from a scrapper and they all work. But they are all missing the plastic casing so i cannot see what type/speed it is....
My p3b-f boots to a safe 66fsb by deafault when detecting a new cpu. So for example one cpu gives me option 300mhz (66fsb) or 450mhz (100fsb). Since this is a coppermine and there is no 450mhz coppermine it must be a 4,5x133fsb cpu or a p3-600. No problem.
Now, when i insert another one it gives me these options: 7,5x 66 or 7,5x100. this COULD be a 750mhz 100fsb cpu but it can also be a 1ghz 133fsb cpu.
Cpu-z and wcpuid do not tell what cpu it really is. It says PIII 750mhz processor and at 66fsb it says pIII 750mhz at 500mhz. But it says the same when i put in a KNOWN 1ghz/133fsb cpu and run it at 500 and 750mhz.
Also with the 600/133 cpu it says PIII 450mhz cpu at either 300 or 450mhz, it should say PIII 600mhz at 300mhz or 450mhz....
Does anyone know how to determine the true speed of these cpu's? These coppermines have a lot of headroom so simply setting 133fsb will run fine but i want to know the official numbers.
there is nothing on the pcb except for ''intel'', a production date (week/year) and random number on the cpu that really doesn't help.
