Hello,

since my new Asrock K7S8X board i have troubles getting sound within Real DOS (Win98). Because the important games dont run within DOS Box (Winoldap errors) i am forced to find a solution to listen to some sound. I dont care on good sound, but any sound which is better than internal speaker sound would be heavenly great! Is there a way installing VDMSound for Win98/win95 (using the alpha release, is there a new one?) under real DOS?

Hi Qbix,

thanx for your quick answer. Actually i am not sure, if that installation
procedure is meant for real DOS, because it says "DOS BOX". I have
followed it to get it started under WIN98, but because my games/appz
are not running in DOS boxes i´d like to use it under real DOS not within WinDOS (-boxes). Do you have experiences on that concern?

There are other possibilities how to run DOS games:
a) Did you try DOSBOX (I mean the emulator, not DOS in Windows)?
b) For some games there are native engines for Windows: e.g. Ultima 7 (Exult), Lucas Arts adventures (SCUMMVM), DOOM etc.
