Hello and good afternoon!

I'd like to get Paul Rickards's WiFi 232 Hayes-compatible modem to provide connectivity to the web with TCP, alongside bbs's in a terminal emulator. Problem is, every TCPCOM-like program I've found is either incompatible with 98 or doesn't allow modem connectivity without entering a phone number(the 232 doesn't actually use one). Is there a way to bridge the com port to a TCP stack without using an external system?

If I am understanding you, I think the answer is no. If you want to use that wifi modem to get on the internet, you need it to connect to something that provides a SLIP or PPP connection. I don't think it can do that on its own.

Okay, that's what I thought. I could just get a pci wifi nic for a few bucks, which I'll prob do, but I figured it'd be neat to have standalone connectivity to the web and BBS'S through serial if at all possible. I might still try a ppp bridge, but Idk yet.

btw, there is a custom firmware for the WiModem232 that has a PPP server built in. I'm not sure how compatible the two devices are, but maybe there is hope. https://github.com/jcs/WiFiPPP
