Can you tell me what capacitor package type you are thinking, and check me for errors please. 😀

perhaps a thru hole capacitor but attached smd? maybe a ceramic laid flat? won't get a very high value to fit without modifying the pads significantly

I was able to adjust the vsb gap btw, this will probably work.

Seems like I'm not eligible to send PMs yet. But I've set up a simple website to allow for easy ordering: https://recnas.org/

Please let me know if this is inappropriate and I'll remove the link asap.

I'm not sure, but I placed an order this morning if you want to verify it. I've got a project on my bench this would help immensely.

Will you have some samples for purchase?

The latest revision is waiting on feedback. RussD never replied.

You will just order them yourself from a pcb maker. It’s pretty easy.

Kapton tape would be a good idea under the contacts. If you don’t have any, order some now. 😀

I'll have some coming - this is for under the end connectors or underneath the whole pcb?

OK all wired up, checked OK, 5v tested good in the slot and went to test with my 3.3v mx420 - it gave me a post beep which it never has done before, but no output to the monitor. I'm not sure if this is a function of signaling voltage or failure to get one of the connections soldered, although they all checked ok with my meter. That's the only universal video card I have so I ordered the ubiquitous rage from amazon to test tomorrow.

Is the mx420 that you have a card that needs 3.3v I take it? It didn’t work before in this mobo I take it?

Yeah, that rage xl cool card, That is a card in need of 3.3v for sure! Should be a good test.

Be sure you are checking for shorts thoroughly.

From what I can tell, it went OK as far as shorts. I checked 3.3v to ground on all of the solder connections and no connectivity, and ground were all good. I will also check for any shorts to data/io/whatever pins later.

Yep the card I have on hand (actual part number MX42064) needs 3.3v and it gave me a post beep, can see numlock activity, just no monitor output. I'll test with the Rage and then if I have no output there either start drilling down.

What voltage are you getting on the pins that I had on the last version?

Last version had no ground taps

Had 3.3v taps and 3.3/5v taps.

We removed the 3.3/5v taps because it was assumed that those would probably be 5v anyway. And it would just be a pointless feature.

Did you bridge the 3.3vsb tap?
