This is how it looks like.

Oh oh, i would not place a passive Ti 200 inside.
Except you plan to drill some holes for Air Intake.

Is this nforce2 shuttle ?
i have the same machine i think.

With Mobile Athlon 1800+ (200Mhz FSB) installed (45W), HD3450 AGP Active cooled, and SSD.
I ran passive GeForce 4 MX460 and it got so hot, i had worrys.

Autsch, I bought mine without! I will take the card out and see if I can get such a fan or change it with MSI-T200 witch is passive cooled.

yes, but mine has 3000+ Barton Core...I can't go for ATI, I have to stick to NV up to GF3 or up to FX but then there will be problems with the amithlon-cores.

MSI-T200 witch is passive cooled.

Reference/MSI passive heatsink is a horrible long-term solution.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

No ATI? the 9000 series would be perfect, unless this PC is meant for older than 98 stuff.

yes, no ati at all. I don't want vesa or completly unaccelerated gfx in amithlon.

yes, exactly "mostly" unaccelerated ati-gfx. keep in mind that even matrox-mystique! is hw-accelerated (beside the "hardware-block-move" command).

I don't get what the issue is here. Have you encountered issues with ATi cards on this system?

In any case, the Noctua fan I was talking about is the NF-A4X10 or the NF-A4X20 if you've got some slight headroom. Make sure to grab the 5V, 3pin versions of either fan and you'll be good to go, no need to change the video card. Ziptie-ing it would actually be a good idea if you find that you can't mount it simply by screwing it in the old heatsink.

Interesting! https://forum.amiga.org/index.php?topic=27916 … 24328#msg324328

GF3 with Kernel 2.04 worked excellent...

Thx, I am currently hunting for the original fan or a suitable third party replacement.
Beside that I will check the "partially accelerated" ATI Cards like 7000/7500/9600.

Well, 9600 non-Pro is probably best passively cooled card in this "bracket". Sapphire had them with nice heatsinks.
Performance was somewhere between GeForce3 and GeForce4 Ti 4200.

@dr.zeissler
Low profile 60mm fan and zipties? There are plenty attachment points on this heatsink.

Thx for the advice! I will have a look which ATI cards I have... and how well they perform.

Okay, so you want to turn this system into an Amiga-like using Amithlon? That was a bit confusing, why not say so from the beginning of the thread? I think you should find something that works and stick to it, in this case the GF3 Ti200 that you have in there and seems to support everything you want. All you have to do is add a fan, I do not understand your unwillingness to go with the Noctua fan, they are very quiet and push relatively decent amount of air. It's certainly a lot quieter than the fans these cards came with which were a very loud affair.

I always do Multiboot, beside Amiga-Amithlon there is still
-OS2/Warp
- MsDos
- Win2k/XP
- Linux

On that same machine, so it's not about Amithlon only.
The noctura fan will not fit in that case, it can not be placed inside that heatsink.

I did a google search for the fan last night but found nothing. The model # on the fan only returns a number of fans with full fan housings or 3 screw hole mounts but none with the 2 screw hole mounts. These were probably made special for the manufacturer of the cards.

The version I have is an EVGA GF3 Ti200 but besides the labeling on it, it appears to be a Sparkle card with the same cooler just doesnt have the Sparkle sticker on the fan or the Sparkle labeling on the memory heatsinks.
