3rd hard reset as of now...I feel the problem is with some proxying/hooking of RReady with Windows. DDrawCompat had such an issue in 23H2 as well. Similarly DxWnd setting Emulate Win9x heap isn't hookable on Windows 11 24H2 but works on older ones

Not something that I assume to be fixed, I reported some issues back in 2022 in feedback hub, always got back with insufficient information...

It might actually be virtualization related. I think I have VM support turned on. I should be able to test it in an hour's time, [EDIT]"Vritual Machine.Platform."

[EDIT2] Nope did nothing, still locks up.

Just an update on joysticks in ICR2 from me!

Both staging and normal dosbox now recognise my wheel and pedals - or my xbox controller. Via the remapper the game now works with either!

BUT

The steering has an obvious centre deadzone. I fixed this in staging dosbox by adding these lines to the joystick section of the staging .conf file
Deadzone = 0
joy1deadzone1 = 0.00
joy1deadzone2 = 0.00
joy2deadzone1 = 0.00

However adding these same lines to the std dosbox does nothing and the deadzone remains - this makes playing with a wheel very unsatisfying unfortunately.

I'm just using staging to bypass this for now but wanted to point it out for future tuning?

Best wishes.

Here's my latest logfiles from the last release.

BTW: CPU load is still quite high... 😀

I'm aiming to fix the cpu load issue and the dma stability fix for the next release. Also the deadzone problem.

Does it work in Dosbox-Rendition if you add:

[joystick]
circularinput = true

?

Could you share your dosbox-rendition.conf and dosbox-staging-rendition.conf files?

These 3 settings

joy1deadzone1 = 0.00
joy1deadzone2 = 0.00
joy2deadzone1 = 0.00

don't exist and shouldn't do anything. [EDIT] But I can add support for this.[/EDIT]

This:

Deadzone = 0

should work in both builds of Dosbox. But I'll be testing this later today.

ICR2 runningon HD2000 (with a test build of RReady):

The work is incomplete and the build isn't entirely stable, but hopefully I can fix that over next few weeks.

Yes it was - I could only use staging at that point but it was there and I'd ignored it thinking there would be a calibration fix in-game or something.

I forgot to say I also added these lines to the .map file generated by the mapper :

joy1deadzone0- = 0.00
joy1deadzone0+ = 0.00
joy1deadzone1- = 0.00
joy1deadzone1+ = 0.00
joy1deadzone2- = 0.00

joy1deadzone4- = 0.00
joy1deadzone4+ = 0.00
joy1deadzone5- = 0.00
joy1deadzone5+ = 0.00
joy1deadzone6- = 0.00
joy1deadzone6+ = 0.00
joy1deadzone7- = 0.00
joy1deadzone7+ = 0.00
joy2deadzone0- = 0.00
joy2deadzone0+ = 0.00
joy2deadzone1- = 0.00
joy2deadzone1+ = 0.00
joy2deadzone2- = 0.00
joy2deadzone2+ = 0.00
joy2deadzone3- = 0.00
joy2deadzone3+ = 0.00
joy2deadzone4- = 0.00
joy2deadzone4+ = 0.00
joy2deadzone5- = 0.00
joy2deadzone5+ = 0.00
joy2deadzone6- = 0.00
joy2deadzone6+ = 0.00
joy2deadzone7- = 0.00
joy2deadzone7+ = 0.00

I took both sets of extra code from this thread on Icr2.net where the control deadzone was mentioned in conjunction with using dosbox-x :

https://www.icr2.net/forum/showthread.php?tid … adzone#pid14317

Cheers!

OK this is in the mapper. I'll fix the deadzone, not entirely sure why, it's not working. The deadzone only applies to stick 0, I think.

Brilliant - thank you!

I have tried circular input = true and false btw - neither affected the deadzone issue.

For completeness here are my .conf files too.

@Grafix, could you try this build:
https://nirvtek.com/downloads/RReady.Alpha.20250128.007.7z
MD5: b1ecb96f26a43743b24b57b5f11127db

It adds two new settings:
(for the second stick)
[joystick]
deadzone2 = 10
circularinput2 = false

I have tested stick 1 and also played around with swap34. Setting deadzone=0 does appear to work for me with a gamepad and the left stick.

This build has a lot of changes internally and I can't vouch for its stability. The broken support for Intel HD graphics is in here, it doesn't work too well at the moment.

Bingo...

This worked perfectly for me with both deadzones set to zero - my wheel calibrated in-game without any centre deadspot - awesome!

Thank you!

Why is there an asterisk in game names in the Store?
Did you mean HD 4000 instead of HD400 in the store requirements?

Yup, sorry missed that. I'm not allowed to use the game names on the store page or in any marketing material because even that's copyrighted. At least that's what Bethesda told me when I asked for permission.
