Hi,

does anyone have the latest bios for the M575 motherboard? Mine is dated 2/12/1998 S.

Also, does DMA work on this motherboard? Everytime i enable it, my win98se won't boot anymore.

Thank you!

Hi,

Here is the original M575 990402S BIOS.

There is also a patched version of this BIOS with K6-2+/-III+ support on my K6plus page at:

Edit: updated the link to my website

Hi,

worked like a charm, but I am going to miss the old interface.

Thank you!

EDIT: dma still not working, found some info that txpro has a chipset bug and it will not work, too bad.

What exactly do you mean about DMA ?
I used this model of motherboard. Back then when I installed the IDE miniport driver I saw dramatically lesser CPU usage in the HDTach test.
I used maybe one of the first UDMA33 model of Seagate - ST31722A. So I think the UDMA 33 works. Although I'm not sure about Multiword DMA Mode.

Tried installing the driver from v2.3 cd but installer said that it is already installed. Is there any other driver out there?

I don't remember exactly the version I used. But (IIRC) there was no any checkbox to activate DMA/UDMA in the device manager. And if the driver installed properly the device manager showed the real model of HDD instead of something like "Disc Drive Type 47"

Hi, I found this nice motherboard and it working perfectly.

I have to update this bios, I have the 1998 one, and I wanted to put the 04-02-1999 bios, the last official bios.

Someone know how I could update it? I know that I need a bootable floppy disk, but please where can I find the flasher? I found out that I will need the Amiflash 6.33 but I really can't find one.

Someone has it and could upload here please?

Thanks a lot, I want to put a great AMD K6-2 500 on this baby and Install Windows 98SE making a great retrogaming pc!

Ok, I have found that utility, simply searching the string on Google "amifl633.zip" that is the correct name of the file.

Then I found a strange site but it made me possibile to download that program, so for you all I upload it here.

On the afternoon I will make the upgrade of the bios and I will let you know If all is gone ok!

Hey, someone of you could please help me?

After I updated the last bios,

I installed the AMD K6-2, put two sticks of 128mb of RAM for a total of 256mb, and beginning installation of Windows 98SE.

When I use the floppy to start the machine and FDISK the hard drive all gone right.

Then I start the computer with the cd-rom of Windows 98SE but when it enters on the GUI of installation I immediately have this error. How could I resolve it? Someone of you knows what the problem could be?

Update: I put another K6-2 (this one is 500mhz and 2,2v.) and it works now perfect.

Probably a bad CPU then, or overheating problems. I don't think it's a RAM problems cause I made a full round of 45minutes of Memtest86 and no errors.
