No duplicates, they're the same stuff I got from the scrapper earlier in this thread - it just happened to arrive today, and so far the most work that is needed to be done is on the MX300, 5AX (which is far worse than what I had to do to the MX300) and the 5ED which needs some pin re-enforcing. The MSI and DFI appear to be the easiest to fix out of the bunch 🤣

Speaking of which, anyone know or happen to have a MX300 bracket to spare? I've tried the bay but to no avail, it's mostly complete (and pricey) cards. I managed to fix the mangled jacks thanks to a CMI 8738 card, of all things 🤣

If you have to it wouldn't be hard to 3d print a new bracket for that card

That's the thing - I have no other MX300 to use as a reference for printing, nor I could find any STL (or any 3d printing format for that matter) file for it.

I picked up this nice scratch free pair of reto Dell speakers from a yard sale for 5$! Love it. 😀 Unfortunately the tower was already missing though 🙁

I have an issue with this style of speakers in that they have a tendency to tip over a lot. I'll often bump my speakers or desk and knock them over. I don't know how stable this design is, but wanted to mention it.

...the buckling spring mechanism! Hardly an IBM Model-M, but an interesting curiosity nonetheless. Model number is IZITK-105M, apparently manufactured by the Can Technology Co. Ltd., Taiwan.

It has an unusually small spacebar and a Fn key next to the right shift, which can be used to set the repeat rate. Pressing Fn+Print Screen causes it to output the string "eleen enterprise co., ltd. v1.02" to the connected PC.

It's Terratec week here 😜

After my EWS64XXL I spotted this DMX 6Fire being sold cheap as it was missing cables and documentation. Fortunately a regular IDE cable works fine for connecting this card to its breakout box.

Why did I get it? Because it is the one other card that can support the Waldorf microWAVE PC synth. Just one issue: despite being designed specifically for this purpose with two dedicated connectors on the card, Terratec in their great wisdom changed the pinout so you can't just use the cables from the EWS64, you need either a special twisted cable or two adapter connectors supplied with the 6Fire. But missing here...

There are pics of the adapters and even a topic here with some tantalizing hints but no clear pinout/diagram of what needs modding to get it to work. A challenge...

Today I got this little 8" LCD TV from a made-up-brand-from-maplins - I was going to take it apart to get the LCD since it's a 640x480 TFT but it works so well as a mini VGA monitor and composite TV that it's going to get used. It's got a really convenient built-in stand, stereo speakers and it looks nice 😀

Yup, I usually stick them down with some blutack or a little bit of 3M double sided tape with the command strip.

Still hit them hard enough and even this wont stop them falling over.

I am pretty sure that heatsink isn't sufficient for that CPU anyway. 95W TDP. The whole PC smells like an ashtray. Haha. So will need a clean throughout.

Ashtray .. yup that's a very hard pass for me, have had to clean a few chain smoker PCs in the past and will never subject my self to that gag fest again.

Chainsmoker + Pet = utter gag fest cleaning fans that have sucked all that in...second only to roach motel PCs. Even offered to replace the fans and cooler but nope they wanted them cleaned to save money ....the new ones would have been cheaper since the cleaning time required for the tainted parts was an extra cost and I had the cooler and fans in the spares bin anyway.

have had to deal with both in the past and refuse to touch such PCs anymore.

Do smokers know how bad stale nicotine smells to a non smoker ?
Do they know how damn hard it is to clean the matted durrie tar off parts ?
Same for Roach motels ...how do people not notice the roaches crawling out of the PC or the smell ?

Possibly wouldn't have bought it if I knew. But seller didn't mention smell. Still, the price is OK I think. Question is, can I be bothered cleaning it. I won't use it as it is now.

Doubt it, it's BX after all. Unless they're on an Lin-Lin adapter I guess.

Its certainly not typical that's for sure but there isn't much difference between CU and CU-T so if it runs one it should run the other, the question is if its official support in the BIOS or not.

My ASUS P2B-DS can run CUmine with slotkets and there are mods to get it to run Tualatin.
