Quick note...

The comp/svideo are fed into the Ti 4200. I assume to use the cards capture capability?

There is a TV card input on the motherboard.

i woulfd have thought the comp/svideo would be inputs being on the front panel, but if it does connect directly to the GPU it likely would be an output as ive never seen a gpu with video inputs, a weedeewee said it probably connects to the TV card which would make more sense, the one i had was a phillips/medion branded one, i just googled it and theres another variant that doubles as a network adapter, that would plug in the blue pci slot which is for dual function pci cards, it also has a yellow connector on the tv card so must link with the front panel/GPU somehow, would be interesting to find out how it all works, though finding drivers for the tv card might be difficult.

This makes much more sense. More so since the MB has connectors for AV as well.

That's almost certainly the missing card, and now I want one. I sort of want to rebuild this machine.

It was connected to the GPU, so I assume the ports were double duty? Outputs when connected to this Ti 4200, or inputs if you have the TV tuner.

For reference. Took the pic below immediately after pulling the GPU. Yellow was connected to GPU. White is just a modem. I assume where the dual TV/Modem card would be.

you're probably right depending on how its setup could be input or output, the modem might be an original part if it is it would have a medion sticker on the bottom, in which case the tv card might have been the model without the network part, if its not a medion part then its probably a combo tv card.

also your pic reminded me i saw one on ebay a while back and made sure to save a pic of the inside, it shows the tv card but wont help much with the wiring.

looking at the distance from the metal part of the tuner and the connectors it looks like this might be the correct card rather than the one i posted above.

if it were me i'd definitley keep it as is, its over 20years old and theres probably not many left that are still complete, if you do manage to get it all back together a thread on it would be cool 😀

The frontpanel was tailormade for the Medion case. For other cases it needs some McGyver mod. It is also not very easy to find other boards with the same connectivity.

I will be keeping the board and connector together for future use. Right now, the board needs to be recapped and I need to see if it's necessary for me to design and print an adapter for the front panel to fit in a standard 5.25 bay.

A couple years ago I bought a computer just for the case and it had this motherboard plus front panel in it. As far as I remember the frontpanel wires all connect diirectly to the motherboard - some of them underneath the special blue (propriety) pci slot. At the time I found some documentation, see attached. Alas it is in German.
I sold them in another case; the frontpanel was forcefully pressed into its new position with pieces of rubber as fillers. The new owner may not have appreciated that but from a fully working XP machine for 10 euro you can't demand too much.

edit: as far as I remember this manual covers it all.

The one on the second set of photos is the same tv card that came with the pc I mentioned. Finding a driver is easy, the dl link is still alive:

Hi! new to the forum and vintage computing in general.

Recently came across what I thought was a 286 (it was in an APC 286 case) but after looking at the boards closely I'm beginning to think it's not.

Attached are a few pictures of the system I am trying to identify. I really appreciate any and all assistance!

Thanks,
Zero

Go to https://theretroweb.com , press motherboards and then the advanced search button. Select 1 x XT Keyboard and 8 x 8bit ISA slots.
Scroll down until you find a picture which looks like your board.
I think it's this one:

The last one (*203226) seems to be a Tamarack TD3088A Hercules video card.
The very large card may be a multi input-output card (at least this is so written on the card itself) for handling hard drives, floppies, etc.
I myself used to have a Hercules monitor on my first PC, which was a 8088-based Schneider Electric.
The golden one has WD all over it, and Western Digital WD11C00-JT is indeed a controller, so I humbly suspect it's an HDD handling card.
The motherboard is a little bit fuzzy, but I suspect an Intel 8086 processor there in the top-left corner (those early processors were not square-shaped).
So I think a rich 8086-based XT with a hard drive, floppy and a printer can be guessed here.

Well, I would've said that bottom left, right above the keyboard connector was an AMD P8088-1 or maybe 8086, hard to read entirely ..

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

Well, I found a cheap Medion TV Tuner 7134 CTX918, and I'm seriously considering picking it up. It would allow me to fully rebuild this system back to it's original configuration.

I also took a good look at the case, the only physical damage is to the plastic indicated in the photo below. Right under the front panel IO and the floppy bay. The rest of the case actually doesn't look that bad for being 20+ years old.

I'm thinking I can fix those cracks, there's no missing material, and keep the system whole in all it's German 2002/2003 glory. I think that would be pretty cool just becasue it's a pretty neat little system with what I think is a cool history having one here in the US. Perhaps becasue I come from a German family, or perhaps I just like how this system was setup, but I really like it.

Edit: Just bought the card over on eBay. $6.59 + $3.50 shipping from California. 😀

Good deal for my silly little project if you ask me.

Nice find! Never thought I'd see an SGI machine with a footprint on it.. breaks my heart a little.

Loved these back in the mid 90's!

You'll have to share what you do with it 😀

I'm not from a "non x86" league.

Preparing to ship to person who is collecting this kind of stuff. this particular sgi cost me ~ 50 bucks. and shipping will be like another 150$ -)

A huge 4U HP E5406 ZL modular managed switch. Gbit and PoE. Not sure what to do with it.
And a Dell GX260 SFF desktop with to be determed Celeron... with leaky caps. HDD was still fitted.

Edit: added model number and more info

Came across a pile a garbage the other night on my usual daily walk. People dumping their old stuff on the sidewalk to be collected. As I walked passed I see this open, early 2000's era, PC case lying there. I stop and look inside.. Oh, half recognizable motherboard, the memory still installed but the CPU cooler was removed. I grab the memory. One stick of PC133 256MB and other of 64MB. No worries, I'll take it. Since a few months I have been carrying a screwdriver exactly for scenarios like this. So, I grab the screwdriver out of my bag. first I remove the hard drive, a Seagate 10GB of some sort. Then I remove the motherboard screws. The board doesn't look like it my area of computing, it has some Athlon CPU on covered in white thermal paste. Grab a paper hanky from my bag and clean up as much as possible, get most of the gunk off. Then wrap the CPU in another hanky. The caps on the board are leaking. Definitely not my era of computing. My interest go up to early Pentium era. Anyhow, I can use this board recapping practise. Hopefully next time I find something better... Oh, after I moved on I realized that I didn't pop the IO shield out of the case so I went back and grabbed that as well... Just in case..

Nice score!

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?
