My retro room.

Your retro room is simply fantastic; it's essentially a world that developed between the '80s and the early 2000s 🤩

Are the arcade cabinets original (perhaps with modern hardware inside, with Mame running the software) or are they reproductions? (they're still exceptional, though)
“Comunque la monetina da 500 lire (o almeno così mi sembra) per giocare a Super Street Fighter II è un must!” 😁

For other users, sorry for the Italian text; I was talking about inserting old, out-of-circulation Italian coins to play Super Street Fighter II (watch in video).

It's all beautiful; I hope to do something similar one day. For now, I'll have to make do with a little space on my desk and keep the rest in the box 😅

Not sure if I'm more jealous of your collections or just the amount of space you have to set them up properly!

I used to have a small office room in the house where I live (my wife's house actually) but now it's a room for the one of my daughters 🙂.

So, in 2022 , I transported almost all my retro equipment to the house (my house) where I grew up and I made the living room as a retro computer playing 😁 room 😀.

In the house where I live, I have an Apple iMac G3 and a Philips cd-i console.

- Macintosh LC475, Powerbook 540c, Macintosh Performa 6116CD, Power Macintosh G3 Minitower, Imac G3, Powermac G4 MDD, Powermac G5, Imac Mid 2007
- Cyrix 120
- Amiga 500, Amiga 1200
- Atari 1040 STF
- Roland MT32, CM64, CM500, SC55, SC88, Yamaha MU50

Year 2001 eye Candy of my previous home computer room.
Windows 2000 era.
It’s all gone now.
This is what a home computer room looked like in Silicon Valley California.
We used Cable modem networks.

Taken a year, it's still not quite finished, but here is my retro setup.

I had something very similar in the UK but as anyone with more then 2 computers can confirm. cabling becomes a nightmare. so have put more thought into it this time.

Gararge-Desk.jpg
Desk has 3 HP EliteDisplay 201's chosen for having VGA/DVI/DP inputs and a Dell 5:4 monitor. All 4 VGA inputs connected to a separate KVM.
DVI is often used as a 2nd screen on more modern computers.
DP used to be used for laptops but these need setting up again.

Also on the desk is my SC-55 (typically hooked up to the Osborne) and my Logitech Z5500 speakers.

To connect this many computers to the speakers I have a 4 port toslink switch, or each PC also has a standard audio cable from the back I can plug the speakers direct into.
This does means I loose true 5.1 surround sound but currently with 2 small children I'm actually using my headphones more at the moment.

The cabinets above the screens have all my CD's and above them some of my Big Box software. (I think the rest is still at my parents)

This looks really awesome. Well organized and no clutter. I am taking notes.
