Just tried one of these WITHOUT drivers and it sounded surprisingly good - pity it is speaker out only with no line-out jumper, but could not really fault it otherwise.

Crazy... that thing has sockets for CMS chips! That was certainly a very determined effort at cloning the SB 2.0. I'd be curious to know if you can drop in a programmed GAL and a couple SAA-1099s and actually get fully functional CMS out of that thing.

Mine was a smaller card with no sockets. The FM had a kind of punch to it I don't hear often...then again it could have been overgain from feeding the speaker out into amplified speakers 😒

Hi,
It looks like DriverGuide may have deleted j98mf-002.zip off of their website (who knows why)
Anchor Electronics MF-002 (J98MF-002)... aka the Media Concept 2.0 (and many other names, such as Master Boomer...)... it's a Sound Blaster 2.0 clone!
You may want to try this (actual Media Concept drivers): http://mpolibbs.steptail.com/hardware/SOUND/O … ER/LD_MEDC2.ZIP
or this (should be the same thing, different publisher): http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=821&menustate=0
Brostenen may still have the original j98mf-002.zip file somewhere: Re: Drivers for Sound Blaster 2.0 Clone?

Took a leap of faith, and downloaded the j98mf-002.zip file, though it has some issues. (it's the right installer)
It is missing a file called mf.cfg and it asks for the disk being labeled "DISK1 " (yeah... blank spaces, sort off)
When I copy the files to a specific folder, it asks for this mf.cfg file.
Tried to see if an empty file would do the trick. Hmmm.... Did not work as it is asking for some information.
Found the product name, by the way...
It is called: "Anchor Media Concept 2.0"
But as you've already seen, the other Media Concept 2.0 drivers should be the same.
Later on, brostenen is legit able to get it working with the Sound Blaster 2.0 installation media: Re: Drivers for Sound Blaster 2.0 Clone?
such as you may find here (scroll down): http://vogonsdrivers.com/index.php?catid=7
showing that it's a Sound Blaster 2.0 clone.
That's all I can help with, I don't own this card.

Hi, tnx for your help. I will try the drivers.
Yes... That card is my old card. Kanecvr have it now. However, getting in touch with him, is perhaps a bit impossible.
I lost contact with him for about two years ago, and I have no idea were he went.
There are one single clue to were he might be now, as someone on another forum have reported that he might have died
in a motorcycle accident. He has not been responding to any of my email, that I have send him for the last 1,5/2 years.
What happened. I dont know. However, that card in the picture, are my old card.
Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....
