Can you upload the firmware file for 771?

I'm heading home right now, I will upload the bios with updated microcodes for 775 and 771 when I have some time.

That would be interesting, I'm trying to update the microcodes but mmtool claims that they are not valid since the file size is different... any suggestion?
About the cpu i'm actually undecided between E7600 and E5800, the first supports the sse4.1 but it has a lower speed and according to your suggestion E5800 seems better.

Every microcode has been updated, there is one microcode fewer because intel merged the platforms for CPUID 10676.
CR865PE172MC.7z

There are no microcodes for 771 but apparently they can be added without issues, the total number of microcodes goes up to 33, if anyone is willing to test it I can upload that file too.

Can you upload the firmware file for 771?

Addedd the lastest microcodes for the 771 cpus

I tried some MOBO's in there.

ASUS P5P800 (Not SE version or VM version): After BIOS update, I tried Pentium D 820 and Pentium D 945. With Pentium D 945, there is no life in screen, but interestingly, it works with Pentium D 820 but it detects ONLY single-core. Not 2 core-2 thread CPU in P5P800. Its limited with Pentium 4 HT (1 Core-2 thread P4's.) and Celeron D CPU's.

MSI PM8PM-V (MS-7222 REV 2.0): I updated to latest V5.5 BIOS and I tried Q6600 with both revisions and no work. This mobo doesn't support Core 2 Quad. Also I tried Pentium D 820 and every time I got blue screen crash. Not tried with Core 2 Duo but I'm not sure about its Core 2 Support. I think that mobo is limited by Pentium 4 and Celeron D CPU's. With weak capacitors, too much underperforming MOBO. Also limited with 2 GB DDR2-533 Memory. Not supporting more than 2 GB memory.

ECS P4M800PRO-M2: Also that one not support Core 2 Quad. Not try with Core 2 Duo but almost everyone confirms that one supports Core 2 Duo. I don't want to be against that because.

ASRock 775DUAL-VSTA: Perfectly supports B3 Revision 1066 MHz FSB Core 2 Quad Kentsfield CPU's with unofficial 3.19a BIOS. Succesfully supporting 4 GB DDR2 667 MHz memory with 3.19a unofficial BIOS. Also I'll try G0 Revision Kentsfield CPU's, Yorkfield CPU's and more memory than 4 GB DDR2.

Ancient system: Intel D865GLC + P4-EE (SL7CH Gallatin) + HD 4670 AGP + 4 GB DDR400 RAM + 256 GB Corsair Neutron SSD + 3 * 320 GB IDE PATA WD HDD

Retro system 2: ASRock ConRoe865PE + Q6600 (SL9UM)+ HD 3850 AGP + 4 GB DDR400 RAM + 120 GB Kingston SSD

Do any of these boards support 3.3v cards? I assume it would be a universal AGP slot if it did, but I don’t really care which slot or if it’s emulated or what processors it supports.

Hi guys.
I searching for full ATX board with Core 2 Duo support for Windows 98/Me and Windows XP build. I have one LGA 1336 setup for late XP/Vista/Windows 7 gaming, but want also something more suitable for slightly older period.
I know that Core 2 is not necessary for Windows 9x gaming, however it working nice with XP and more CPU power was never a bad thing.
I had some luck and bought Geforce 5950 in good condition, so now looking for nice mobo with nice CPU.
Because it should working with both, 9x and XP, it should also be appropriate equipped with both IDE and SATA ports, floppy connector (yes, I like using floppy with my retrosetup), CD in, serial and parallel ports, PS/2, and USB for convince. Preferably full ATX.
It seems the best choice would be some of Gigabyte 8I865GME, but they are extremely hard to track in my country, and also only mixrATX.
Asrock boards are more common, but they had pretty bad reputation.
Could you guys recommend me something similar in specs to GA-8I865GME-775-RH but in full ATX (or at least easier to find)?

Gigabyte GA-8I865PE775-G-RH rev 3.0 or 4.9
Only Asrock and Gigabyte have full ATX boards.

Since Asrock boards are much more common, are they really that bad?

I have five rev 2.03/2.04 775i65G's and they do not support agp 8x cards actually while supplying 1.5V on mosfets near AGP slot. Two-notched AGP cards which 8x compatible also DNW.
Only 2x and 4x universal cards are ok (Gf2/GF3). None of my FX5200/5500/5900's, Radeon 9800 pro and Gf4 Ti 8x are even post. Old/new bioses E5800 or Celeron D - doesn't matter also. Memory doesn't matter also.

Strange, my 775i65G Rev2.03 worked perfectly (and even got sold) with a FX5500 AGP8x from Palit.

This is for record: not all of the motherboards has this issue, and AGP 8x DNW seems to be related somehow to aged caps. I bought another three, they're $5-7 cheap, and they have no issues at all.
several Asus P5PE-VM has issues with PCI slots for, seems also age related.

Age related or cap age related? It would be different if with a recap the issue will go away.

Dunno actually, do not have enough time to recap plus very tight space/contacts for AGP-related caps. Maybe I'll swap them by soldering pin-to-pin, IBM way - with looong pins front side from factory soldering.

Motherboard that is missing on list: ECS 865G-M8.
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813135018
https://www.ecs.com.tw/en/Product/Motherboard … 0/specification

Also early revisions of MSI PM8PM-V (MS-7222) have worse support for cpus. Mine v1.1 does not support core 2 duo.

Also third thing, these links may interesting (bios mod that is adding support for wolfdale on gigabyte motherboards with 865g):

Hi, I just tested a P5S800-VM with Pentium D 805. I am running latest bios 1023

It posts / boots to bios, haven't gotten around to testing it in Windows though. (Image attached below)
