The B580 was cheaper than either of them and has more vram and happily beats either for non DLSS performance.
Intel actually makes good GPUs, nvidia make great features but is stuck in 8gb vram land for its budget cards.
Yeah two points I can understand there but not sure about the vram.

Possibly because everyone is fed up of the duopoly, or arguably even the monopoly of the current AIB gpu market?
That one thing is anoying me more than anything else, the market is stagnant and the top end of the market is a one horse race which is boring to say the least.
The retro crowd know how interesting a seller rich market can be.
AMD seems to be aiming mostly at the mid range with some rather compelling if confusing cards but the whole market needs a shake up but by Intel?!?Trashbytes wrote on 2025-05-03, 10:24:Yes yes lets give the slowest weakest of the 3060s 12gb of Vram . .cause bigger must mean better right ... nope wrong, its nothi […]

Yes yes lets give the slowest weakest of the 3060s 12gb of Vram . .cause bigger must mean better right ... nope wrong, its nothing more than a overclocked 3050. Nvidia does this because gullible people buy these cards thinking bigger is better but the 8Gb models runs circles around the 12Gb versions due to the bigger memory bus, faster Vram and better core clocks. (The 3060 12Gb doesn't even have enough GPU power to utilize the full 12Gb it has, that how anemic it is)
Have seen Nvidia do this before and they didn't fool me then and they wont now, all their recent 60 series cards are garbage...especially the 5060 which has no right to even exist.
And people keep buying this garbage from nVidia, its why I switched to Intel at least I know they are trying to fuck me and are nice enough to let me know first.
The last good 60 series from them was the 2060 Super which was good for what it was meant to be, was quite the little power house that one.
I see this carries on from earlier.
Dislike nvidia... fair enough, they have done more than enough to earn that kind of attitude towards them.I have to confess I have been wanting to try out one from team blue for a while now, there are a few reviews with favourable results but every time I keep getting draw to the green flag...
It used to be red but with the change of name it lost its luster for me and now I just seem to be stuck in comfortable.Im not a gamer... I play games, or a game that is modern but I want video render capability, and I know team green deliver.
You seem to have more experience with them than I do so have a different idea.
Actually I fully agree, for video rendering its no contest, nVidia has this tied up no question, Intel and AMD are both playing catchup here, same for GPU features that are used for more than just gamers nVidia has this tied up also.
its their scummy marketing segmentation practises and refusal to read the room in regards to vram that is seriously annoying, but since we are not their main market they can just throw us the dregs and shitty segmentation and there isnt a lot we can do about it other than move to AMD or Intel.
So at the end of the day the consumer space is not Nvidias main market anymore that's been taken by AI and Server space customers, us consumers are an after though to nvidia they dont need us and I fully expect them to slowly wind down their consumer GPU market as their AI market canibilises it.
