I *think* the messed up colours is a time of day simulation. I noticed it in yt videos, but I will test it. Anything to fire up the old retro PC.

Maybe not.

Scorched Planet fixes:
https://nirvtek.com/downloads/RReady.Alpha.20250817.002.7z
MD5: 630fb2fb7d1f780c6713ce0ff6cbcee5

- Chroma keying fix (fully run through shaders)
- Civilians/Soldiers colours changing fixed.
[EDIT2] Raven-05, please hold off on testing this with SP. There're a few more things to test.[/EDIT].

[EDIT]
More Ovals: Nazareth '98,'97, Nashville and Motegi are now Rendition Ready.
https://youtu.be/m2ALY1Gt_Do
Only the first two need mip map reduced tracks (link in video description).

- Scorched Planet models changing colour and chroma keying issues fixed. The game should always be run in FIFo mode (type Set SPEEDY3D_DMA=0 [ENTER]) before running the game. (Many thanks to Raven-05 (@WhiteMagicRaven)).
- Critical issue with frame generation corrected. Frame gen should be working 100%. The frame generation and rendering code was correct but vsync state changes in response to the rendition command V_FIFO_WAIT_FOR_DISPLAY_SWITCH threw a spanner in the works. Intermediate frames should be visible in videos and the expected smoothness should be present everywhere (Many thanks to Niels Heusinkveld for the vsync tip).

RReady on a Steam Deck:
https://youtu.be/NMdgPR042DY

[EDIT]
This is even more embarrassing, there's another bug in frame gen. It notifies the caller that the last rendered frame is visible after the interpolated frame, preceding the last frame is rendered.
I'll deal with this tomorrow.

ICR2 and vQuake running on the Steam Deck:

Using builds of dosbox-rendition and SDL.dll and sld_net.dll which are statically linked against the Microsoft Visual C 2022 runtime means they no longer need to be installed even on Windows machines. In hindsight, I should've done this sooner.

Scorched Planet bugs fixed (until Raven-05 tells me otherwise):
https://youtu.be/qNSjz4j2aKE

ICR2 Milwaukee Mile (all of them) are now Rendition Ready.
https://youtu.be/fQwrpJjrQhU

Also there's a 60 fps capture of the Intro with the Reynard 1999 carset at the 08:09 mark. The frame interpolation is actually visible here and in parts of the Milwaukee runs. Youtube is taking a long time to process it.(

https://nirvtek.com/downloads/RReady.Alpha.20 … froadAMDmenu.7z
MD5: 89d3a3ccac20ccab4f677fd73e2d67e6

- Fixes SODA offroad menu glitching with AMD GPUs. Menus should be a bit faster on nvidia as well now.

[EDIT] AMD GPUs have a lot of issues with RReady. vQuake2's QSPAN shader doesn't run well and this runs on Intel HD just fine, though it's slow.

GPL runs, but only at 640x480 internal, but you have to configure it in windowed mode otherwise the settings screen is bigger than the screen. It can't be upscaled any higher than 640x480@60 on all GPUs.

ok re-tested Scorched Planet much much better thank you!
What i spot:
Main intro videos couldn't be rendered (black screen) only some very small parts of it visible near "RReady...." sign statement (string on screen)

The mission n2 stage 4 (Tropical Storm ) have performance drops while looking on cities. Probably game issue itself? (save game included)

- GPL should render correctly on AMD GPUs (well it does on the R7 240 I have). GPL needs to be run at default resolution (no upscaling) and the in-race resolution can be selected from options under renderer.

That's probably a bug and thanks Raven-05!

FIFO mode is slower than DMA. I can't run SP in DMA on real hardware, the game locks up. FIFO mode performance is sadly lackluster, unless you have a fast PC. But I'll see how I can improve this. I get a bit of slowdown at level start where the framerate dips from 60 to 48 for a bit and then picks up again (on the next level 2->3). I did catch a bit of your livestream, but didn't have time to watch the whole thing.

Does it work if you use windowed mode in rlauncher/Dos tab/rendition settings. Set the resolution to max, so it fills the screen. This is a weird bug.

[EDIT] Portland is now Rendition Ready:

[EDIT2] SODA Offroad and GPL compatibility improvements with AMD GPUs (horrible VGA capture):

Hi, OK will try.
Notes:
SPlanet had two verite patches.
You don't have to watch all thing, I only point out issues directly, exceptions is where is too much bugs.
Thanks

I have only 1 verite patch, I *think*.

I don't know how to fix the AMD QSpan rendering. It looks pretty horrible:

1) Firstly the entire span isn't rendered vertically though it should.
2) Some of the spans are missing. It looks like I can't pass the modelviewprojection matrix from the vertex shader to the geometry shader. It works on Intel and nvidia. AAargh!

Ah ok, so one of them should be enough. The version on disc doesn't work at all.

[EDIT
Snetterton, Solitude and Sebring are now Rendition Ready:
https://youtu.be/yTWrZTtRefU

The Radeon geometry shader bug I'm experiencing with an R7 240 might be unfixable. It looks like a driver bug, so vQuake engine games look to be a no no. I think newer Radeons don't have this bug, unless someone tells me otherwise. I can't find anything wrong with the code (QSpan shaders). I've added a suboptimal codepath using software span generation (host CPU) (rendition.cfg : softwareqspan=1), but it's currently incomplete. The perspective correction has errors in this codepath, so warped textures at weird angles are the order of the day. It's quite shocking. Even the vertex/geometry shaders don't do the perspective correction, interpolating the correction factor and applying per pixel correction in the fragment shader. Doing the correction at the vertex or geometry shader results in distorted textures, which just goes to show how far out Verité class hardware really was back in the day.
